Trump’s voter hotline has become a target of prank calls. The administration has since changed the hotline number.
What We Know:
- The 2020 election has been called for Joe Biden. In response, the Donald Trump administration set up a hotline to report any “voter suppression, irregularities, and fraud”. There have been no legitimate allegations of widespread voter fraud at this time.

- In response to the hotline, many have taken it as a chance to prank the administration. A TikTok user called the hotline playing “FDT” by Nipsey Hussle. Another TikTok user called in saying they found an “obese turtle,” referencing CNN’s Anderson Cooper’s remark on Trump. Twitter user Mike Cucinotta played the losing sound from the Price is Right. Another Twitter user, @EvansBeard, used the online form to paste the entire Bee Movie Script.
- Many of the prank calls have gone viral, including Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch who called the hotline and described Hamburglar and asked to speak to Trump’s lawyer Rudy Guiliani. In an interview with TIME, Hirsh spoke about his prank “When a human punchline like Rudy Guliani puts up a hotline to ‘report voter fraud,’ it’s the perfect comedic setup.” Hirsch says he will continue to call the hotline, “As long as they keep putting up these numbers, they deserve any mockery they get and more,” he says. “People say that these calls are immature and childish. To that, I say, ‘duh-doy.’ I’m a cartoonist. It’s my job.”
- New numbers have been set up due to the calls. Lara Trump told Twitter, “keep spamming. We will keep changing the number“.
Another new number 👇🏽 To those who have spammed our other numbers: it’s shameful that you don’t think it’s important to have integrity in our elections. It’s fundamental to our republic. Keep spamming. We will keep changing the number. 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/ILPJrqG42D

As of now, the Trump administration is keeping the voter hotline running. The administration seems confident in its mission and will seemingly keep changing the hotline’s number until success. Until then, it looks like they should expect more prank calls to come.
