Woman Reportedly Pretended to Be FBI Agent to get Free Chick-fil-A Meal

Police have arrested a woman in Georgia accused of pretending to be an FBI Agent to get a free fast-food meal. She allegedly threatened to arrest restaurant workers if they did not serve her a free meal.

What We Know:

  • According to a Rockmart Police arrest report, Kimberly Ragsdale (47) of Dallas, was charged Thursday with impersonating a public officer following repeated efforts to get free meals at a Chick-fil-A.
  • The police report stated that employees at the restaurant mentioned to investigators that Ragsdale showed up at the location various times during the week and pretended to be a federal agent while driving a white minivan and threatened to take employees into custody if they did not comply.
  • It also stated that the woman continued the act as police arrived to arrest her in the restaurant parking lot Thursday, allegedly claiming to officers that she was an FBI agent and that her credentials were electronic.
  • Officers wrote in their police report that while being handcuffed, she allegedly pretended to speak into her shirt as if she was talking into a radio, telling someone that police were arresting her and to send a backup to Rockmart PD.
  • Police Chief Randy Turner stated:

“You will not hear a real officer demand a meal anywhere. If it is given, we appreciate it. If it is discounted, we appreciate it. We will not ask for it or make threats and demand it.”

  • Turner stated they are thankful for the attentive and professional staff at Chik-fil-A who knew what to do and collected the info needed for the police to make the case and catch her in the act. He also mentioned that they would like to inform the citizens to dial 911 if someone is claiming to be an officer if they are not in a marked car, in the proper uniform, or don’t have the valid credentials.

Ragsdale was booked in jail on Nov. 5 and released on a $3,000 bail after two days behind bars.
