Earlier this week, Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige, took on the additional title of chief creative officer.
What We Know:
- As president of the superhero franchise, Feige only had a say in films that occurred in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Other Marvel content, like its Netflix shows, was overseen by Marvel Entertainment personnel. Marvel Entertainment and Marvel Studios started operating separately in 2015.
- Now, Feige will have creative control over all of Marvel’s content including Marvel TV, Marvel Family Entertainment, and its comics. As CCO, all Marvel creative executives will answer to Feige.
- This change in leadership could affect upcoming Marvel content. Digital Spy predicts that Feige’s new role will open up the possibility of more crossovers between all Marvel properties. It would be possible for Netflix heroes like Jessica Jones and Daredevil to appear in Marvel films now that Feige will have access to the television sector of the company.
We can’t be sure what Feige has planned, but we know it will be action-packed.
