Comedian Dave Chappelle is set to make his Broadway debut this summer with a five run show.
What We Know:
- Chappelle has seen many stages in his career, but this will be a new step for him. Dave Chappelle Live on Broadway will run from July 9 through July 13 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater. Chapelle is repped by Rick Greenstein at The Gersh Agency for live touring. The show is being produced by LiveNation, The Araca Group and EBG.
- The comedian, actor, writer, and producer has won several awards for his stand up comedy. But with this new Broadway performance, he may be able to add a Tony to his list of accolades. Chappelle has won two Emmys, one in 2017 for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, and one in 2018 for Outstanding Variety Special. He also won two Grammys and is set to receive the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor this fall.
- Tickets for the show go on pre-sale on June 21 on Ticketmaster. Chappelle’s shows tend to sell out quickly so Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan pre-sale will begin on June 18. The schedule for the show goes as follows: Tuesday, July 9, 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, 8 p.m., Thursday, July 11, 8 p.m., Friday, July 12, 8 p.m., and Saturday, July 13, 8 p.m.
This Broadway debut is coming after Chappelle’s $60 million Netflix special and it seems like he doesn’t plan to slow down anytime soon.
