90-Yr-Old Quincy Jones Had to be Taken to Hospital for Medical Emergency

*He’s OK now, but yesterday there was concern for famed music producer Quincy Jones who experienced a medical emergency.

Jones, 90, was transported by paramedics from his Los Angeles home to the emergency room on Saturday after he had a bad reaction to some food he ate and called 911 just to be safe, according to a representative for the Grammy-winning record producer.

The legendary producer was released from the hospital not too long afterward once doctors determined he was good to go.

The composer never lost consciousness and was in “great spirits” by the time he left the hospital, his rep told TMZ.

Jones has had his fair share of health issues through the years.

In 1974, he suffered a life-threatening brain aneurysm that required two operations and left him with six steel pins in his head.

“I actually had two brain aneurysms,” Jones said in his 2018 documentary, “Quincy.”

“So I guess I would classify as having some experience with trauma to the brain. Also, my mother suffered from mental illness,” he continued.

“She was a brilliant woman who spoke several languages and had degrees from several colleges, but she had this condition that debilitated her, which today could’ve been controlled with medication. But at the time, during the Depression, they simply would commit you.”

His mother, Sarah Jones, was a schizophrenic who suffered from dementia and was taken away in a straight-jacket when he was seven.
