Ohio Father kills daughters, 9 and 6, later commits suicide.
What We Know:
- Neighbors called police to a Columbus apartment after hearing arguing. According to DailyMail, when the police arrived at the scene, they were too late. Father Aaron D. Williams shot his two daughters just as police arrived at the apartment at 10:22 pm Friday.
- Police found daughters six-year-old Alyse and nine-year-old Ava critically wounded at the scene. They were rushed to OhioHealth Doctors Hospital but did not survive the night. Both passed shortly after midnight within a half-hour of each other.
- Authorities found Aaron at the scene with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at 11:32 pm. Aaron met domestic violence charges back in 2018. He pled guilty to intent to harm and assault and was given a three-day suspended sentence.
- Family and friends, devastated by the issue, mourned the girls. Family friend Erica Osborn commented that “The girls, they were just so bright and full of energy… every time I knocked on the door to drop a meal off or pick one up, they would come running. The first thing they tell you is that they love you. I just cannot believe they’re gone.”
As family and friends mourn, Osborn has set up a GoFundMe to help mother Vanecia Shameer Kirkland with funeral costs. Kirkland has not commented on the shooting, and it is unknown where she was during the shooting.
