Uber Driver Kidnaps 15-Year-Old in Long Island, She Escaped with a Simple Lie

What was first seen as a great night out at Atlantic Beach turned into a night a 15-year-old girl may never forget. One Uber ride changed everything.

What We Know:

  • The ride was meant to go to Merrick, but Sean Williams canceled the route and tried to influence the girl to go drinking with him. Additionally, Williams tried to force the girl to his Brooklyn home to sexually assault her. The girl asked him multiple times to take her home and said she was only 15, according to Newsday.
  • The 15-year-old convinced Williams to pull over at a McDonald’s so she could “go to the bathroom.” She called the police shortly after. Williams’ attorney said that the allegations are false and that his client is “distraught”.
  • “What has been reported is deeply alarming and the driver’s access to the app has been removed. We stand ready to cooperate with law enforcement,” said an Uber representative.
  • Williams was a part-time Uber driver for about six months while working in real estate. He is also the father of a 4-year-old girl and will no longer drive for Uber.
  • Williams can face up to 25 years, charging him with misdemeanor charges of child endangerment and unlawful imprisonment, with two felony kidnapping charges.

In Nassau County Court, Williams pleaded not guilty; his bail is $75,000 and is free while waiting for trial.
