Crawford’s mother was unable to speak and her father said, “If they wanted to take somebody’s life they could have taken mine. They didn’t have to kill my baby; they didn’t have to kill her.” He repeated that statement several times. Crawford’s father also added “I know God doesn’t make any mistakes.”
  • Clark Atlanta President George French Jr. sent a letter to the university expressing his condolence. In it he wrote, “Our deepest prayers and thoughts are with her family…Tonight we mourn together.” He also said the university would be providing additional counselors.
  • Crawford’s sister said they last talked on October 30, around 8:44 p.m. Crawford asked her sister what her plans were for the weekend she said “Nothing.” Crawford’s sister told police that Crawford didn’t respond to any text messages after that.

  • Crawford’s roommate told police the last time she saw Crawford was around midnight before going to bed, the police report said. The roommate told police that Crawford wasn’t home when the roommate left for class, and the door was locked with the deadbolt.
