Bartender Wins $50,000 After Customer Leaves Lottery Ticket as a Gift

A Missouri bartender was lucky enough to receive a generous tip from a customer: a lottery ticket worth $50,000.

What We Know:

  • Taylor Russey, a bartender at the Bleacher’s Bar in O’Fallon, expressed in a Missouri Lottery press release about how she has one particular regular that frequents the bar often. Sometimes he leaves behind lottery tickets.
  • “One of the regulars will buy the rest of the regulars in the bar a lottery ticket every now and then, especially when it’s high. And he did that on Saturday– he bought us all lottery tickets”, said Russey. Russey was surprised herself when she realized that she had the winning ticket.
  • “I was like, ‘Guys, who won all this money and didn’t tell anybody?”, she stated. Once Russey got a chance to scan the ticket and confirmed it was hers. She noticed that the ticket matched four out of the five white-ball numbers and she had the winning Powerball number, which resulted in her receiving the award of $50,000.
  • The drawing for Russey’s winning ticket was pulled on October 19. In the most recent fiscal year, lottery players in St. Charles County won over $47.9 million in prizes. The Bleacher’s Bar is located forty miles northwest of St. Louis.

Congratulations to Taylor on her win! Who else could use $50,000 right about now? What would you do with $50,000? Sound off in the comments!
