  • At the recent 2019 world championship in Stuttgart Germany, Biles effortlessly performed two moves that have never been performed at a major competition in gymnastics history.
  • Biles amazed the audience with a double twist into a back-flip for her first move. Followed by closing off her tumbling pass with a perfect triple twist into a double back-flip for her second move. She absolutely nailed her routine and expressed her excitement with a huge smile.
  • The team released the official names of the two moves which will be “The Biles” for the double beam landing and “The Biles II” for the triple-double floor landing. Biles is no stranger to having gymnastic moves named after her. In fact, after the two recent additions, she will have four moves named in her honor.
  • The competition isn’t over just yet however. Biles has earned advancement to the next round and will compete in the finals for Team USA. She still has plenty more time to surprise us with new moves yet again.
  • According to the Olympic rules, a gymnast must successfully land the move at a major competition in order to have the move named after them. They must also submit it for consideration. Biles met both requirements to earn such a great honor.

We’re not surprised that Biles is continuously setting records. We expect to hear more great news throughout her life as a gymnast.
