Hunter Biden Breaks Silence on Ukraine Dealings and Controversies

Hunter Biden breaks his silence about the Ukraine dealings and controversies in an interview with ABC news.

What We Know:

  • Hunter Biden, Former Vice President Joe Biden‘s son, opened up in an interview with ABC News that aired Tuesday, October 15, 2019 on Good Morning America. In the interview, he sat down in his Los Angeles home with ABC’s Amy Robach.
  • This interview was the first time Hunter spoke out since the House of Representatives began its impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump. He stated “In retrospect, look, I think that it was poor judgment on my part. Is that I think that it was poor judgment because I don’t believe now, when I look back on it — I know that there was — did nothing wrong at all,” as well as saying he “gave a hook to some very unethical people to act in illegal ways to try to do some harm to my father. That’s where I made the mistake.”
  • President Trump has repeatedly bashed the inquiry and investigation calling it a “witch hunt” and “harassment”. He’s also called out Hunter asking “Whatever happened to Hunter?”Where the hell is he?“Where’s Hunter?” in an effort to draw focus to what he says is the real scandal.
  • Hunter has been in the media for a couple of instances in the past. These instances include when he briefly dated his older brother’s widow, married South African filmmaker Melissa Cohen, and when he was sued by a woman in Arkansas who claims they had a child together last year, which he denies.
  • Many conservative activists have brought up suspicions about Hunter’s business while his dad was in office. His years-long business career has raised eyebrows as some question his intentions while doing business in China and Ukraine while his father was in office.

Hunter also mentioned that he worries that the glaring spotlight on his personal life could undermine his current sobriety.
