What We Know:

  • WDAM reported the incident happened after 8 p.m. when members of the 4th Brigade of the 25th Infantry Division parachuted from a C-130 plane. Strong winds blew the troops off course leaving some stuck in pine trees.

We are still consolidating soldiers on the drop zone at this time.”
  • Eighteen of the injured soldiers were treated at Forrest General Hospital and four of the other troops are in stable condition.
  • A Facebook post from the 4th Brigade of the 25th Infantry Division explained the training will go on. The post states, “Once all Soldiers have been accounted for, our goal is ultimately to continue training. Despite the challenges that we currently face, Soldiers always place the mission first.”

Thankfully, there were no serious injuries.
