The Food and Drug Administration has demanded recalls related to high blood pressure medication, according to NBC.

- Torrent Pharmaceuticals Limited is recalling Losartan Potassium tablets for traces of N-Methylnitrosobutyric acid, a cancer-linked chemical. This will be the 5th time in 2019 they have expanded their recall. The first being in January.
- According to AL, Losartan Potassium Tablets, USP 50-100mg and Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets, USP 50-100mg/12.5-25mg are the drugs recalled.
- Losartan tablets are used to treat hypertension. The Hydrochlorothiazide tablets treat high blood pressure.
- Patients who are taking drugs should continue taking them as prescribed until they talk with their physician.
The FDA has stated the risk of getting cancer is very small for one of these drugs but it does exceed acceptable levels.
