U.S. tennis prodigy Cori “Coco” Gauff got to meet her “idol” former first lady Michelle Obama last Thursday.

- Gauff famously defeated five-time Wimbledon champion Venus Williams in this yearâs tournament and made it to the competitionâs last 16. She stated that the âwords and wisdom on my journey will stay with me on the court over the course of my career.â

- Obama did a social media shoutout of her own, stating that Gauff was a “wonderful young woman.”
- They exchanged autographs and Gauff even received a personalized message in her copy of Becoming (Obama’s best-selling memoir) –âI wish you courage, strength, joy and love on your journey to become more,â the former first lady wrote.
