Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Rapper T.I will join forces to help the Atlanta City Detention Center serve for wellness and healing.
What We Know:
- In May, Keisha Bottoms signed legislation to close the jail due to increased operating costs and a decreased amount of inmates, according to atlantablackstar.
- The 25 person task force, including T.I and Love and HipHop star Scrapp Deleon, will be focusing on working together to promote strong leadership and helping to create a safer city.
- In a press release Bottoms stated, “It is my hope this building will serve as an epicenter for resources, education and training for the community.”
- “Earlier this year T.I. was honored at Georgia State Capitol for his nonprofits for assisting low-income families, following the Atlanta rapper bailing out 23 nonviolent and first time accused offenders” Atlantablackstar reported.
The new and improved detention center will become a brand new chapter for the city of Atlanta in assisting detained inmates to change their lives for the better.
