The Obamas production company, Higher Ground Productions, is now ready to announce some of what they’ve been cooking up with their Netflix production deal.
What We Know:
- Higher Ground Productions co-heads Priya Swaminathan and Tonia Davis announced seven projects in varying stages of production and development.
- Projects include a 2019 Sundance film festival acquisition (“American Factory”), a post-WWII New York City drama series set in a world of fashion (“Bloom”), a film adaptation of 2019 Pulitzer prize winning book “Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom,” a scripted anthology series based on New York Times column “Overlooked,” a pre-school family-friendly series about food (“Listen to Your Vegetables & Eat Your Parents”), “Fifth Risk,” a non-fiction series about everyday heroes, and “Crip Camp,” a feature-length documentary about the evolution of the disability rights movement.
- The above listed projects are slated to be released over the next few years.
- Higher Ground Productions has plans to unveil more pending projects in the coming months.
