Calling all 90s kids! The Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling movie is coming to Netflix.
What We Know:
- The streaming giant tweeted on Tuesday that Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling will head to their platform. If you missed the film on Nickelodeon, then no worries because all the old characters will be back with the original voice actors, according to a press release from Nickelodeon.
- “Rocko has trouble accepting this 21st-century modern life, while Heffer and Filburt embrace every aspect of new technology, social media and the endless diversity of food trucks. Rocko whole-heartedly believes that his nostalgia for the past can save him from the tortures of the modern world,” the press release said.
- Rocko returns to O-Town after spending the last two decades stuck in outer space and find that things have changed quite a bit since the show ended in 1996. Rocko will have to learn to adjust to his pals Heffer and Filburt, and the whole town by extension, being obsessed with new-age tech, like touch-screen O-Phones and the instant-print kiosk that has taken over his old job at Kind-of-a-Lot-O-Comics.
- The film also features the return of primary voice actors Carlos Alazraqui (Rocko), Tom Kenny (Heffer), Mr. Lawrence (Filburt), and Charlie Adler (Mr. and Mrs. Bighead).
The special is set to premiere on their site Aug. 9.
