A group of Michael Jackson fan clubs in France are suing the late singer’s accusers.
What We Know:
- Three MJ fan clubs,The Michael Jackson Community, the MJ Street and On The Line, have filed a lawsuit against Wade Robson and James Safechuck for accusing Michael Jackson of sexually abusing them.
- Safechuck, 41, and Robson, 36, told their harrowing accounts on the HBO documentary Leaving Neverland released earlier this year. They alleged that the pop star abused them for years, beginning in their early childhoods.
- Safechuck met Jackson when they starred in a Pepsi commercial. Robson met the Jackson as a reward for winning a dance competition. He was only 5-years-old at the time.

Among the numerous vile accusations, Robson claims he performed oral sex on Jackson when he was just 7-years-old. Safechuck stated Jackson taught him how to masturbate at the age of 10.
- According to Deadline, the fans feel these accusations are ‘sullying’ Jackson’s reputation.
- Emmanuel Ludot, lawyer for the fan clubs, told TIME that the fans are seeking conviction under a French law prohibiting the public denunciation of a dead person. The fans are seeking one euro each in damages.
- Michael Jackson and his estate continue to deny the allegations. The estate sent a letter supporting the lawsuit.
