Telemundo anchor José Diaz-Balart has booked an interview with President Trump this week, someone who he definitely has clashed with during the 2016 campaign.
What We Know:
- This interview Thursday will be Trump’s first interview with a Hispanic news channel since taking office, two days after Trump officially kicks off his 2020 reelection campaign.
- While working for “NBC Nightly News” in 2015, Balart confronted Trump about his comments about illegal Mexican immigrants (including him stereotyping them all as “rapists” and “murderers.”) Trump cut off Balart by simply telling him “you’re finished.”
- This interview comes days after Trump announced that Immigration and Customs Enforcement will begin deporting “millions” of illegal migrants next week.”
With bad blood already present, this is gonna be an interview to watch!
