Several Black entertainers are set to be immortalized with their very own star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
Ellen K, Chair of the Walk of Fame Selection Panel and Radio personality, announced the 24 new honorees, which includes honorees Martin Lawrence (television), Ludacris (motion pictures), Lenny Kravitz (recording), Charlie Wilson (recording), Sheila E (recording), Garrett Morris (television), Melba Moore (theatre/live performance) and a posthumous star for the iconic Juanita Moore (motion pictures).
”The Selection Panel, made up of fellow Walk of Famers, hand-picks a group of honorees each year that represent various genres of the entertainment world,” said Ellen K. “The panel thoughtfully selected these talented individuals, and we can’t wait to celebrate them as they become part of Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most famous walkway!”

In the category of MOTION PICTURES: Bill Pullman, Uma Thurman, Vince Vaughn, John Waters, and Paul Walker (Posthumous)
In the category of TELEVISION: Jon Favreau, Mindy Kaling, Ralph Macchio, and Ellen Pompeo.
In the category of RECORDING: Marc Anthony, Irving Azoff, Jonas Brothers, Blake Shelton, and Jenni Rivera (posthumous)
In the category of LIVE THEATRE/LIVE PERFORMANCE: Lang Lang and Pentatonix

”I’m getting a star on the walk of fame in 2023! I can’t believe it,” Sheila E captioned a video of Ellen K’s announcement.

Last year, 15 Black artists copped Walk of Fame stars, including Ashanti, Michael B. Jordan, Regina King, Tessa Thompson, Holly Robinson Peele, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kenan Thompson, Ashanti, DJ Khaled, Nipsey Hustle, Michael Strahan, Martha Reeves, Marylin McCoo, Billy Davis Jr., Bryon Allen and George Clinton Jr.
Dates for the 2023 Walk of Fame ceremonies have not been announced yet. Per the rules, the stars have to schedule their ceremony within two years of being chosen.
