What We Know:
- Simpson called The Associated Press and confirmed his new account and the intent behind it. He told AP that he’s “got some things to straighten out,” and that it “will be a lot of fun.” By 11 p.m. Sunday, the account had 500,000 followers.
- Outside of his famed football career, Simpson is also famous for his televised trial in 1994 for the deaths of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ronald Goldman. Brown and Goldman were stabbed to death on the night of June 12, 1994. Simpson was acquitted and the trial became famous throughout the nation. Simpson is more infamous for the trial than his football career.
- In his Twitter video, Simpson assures his followers that he will be open on “just about everything.” Being open about everything is exactly what the people want. The Simpson trial has been a 25 year conversation. The discussion has been about whether he did it or not since the case was listed as unsolved.
- Throughout the years, Simpson and his family haven’t given the murders any energy. “My family and I have moved on to what we call the ‘no negative zone.’ We focus on the positives,” he told AP. But, it seems now Simpson has something he wants to get off his mind, and he plans to use Twitter to do it.
The story is still developing as we watch to see what he post.
