Singer Mary J. Blige will be receiving this year’s “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the BET Awards airing June 23rd.

- Blige’s presence in the music scene is staggering, with her nine-time Grammy wins (with 32 total nominations) as well as eight multi-platinum albums.
- She has also made herself known in Hollywood, receiving two Golden Globe nominations and one SAG nomination. In 2018, she also became the first double nominee in the best supporting actress and best song categories at the Oscars for her work on “Mudbound.”
- She also starred in the recent Netflix hit “The Umbrella Academy.”
- She is now among legends like Anita Baker and Whitney Houston who have also received this giant honor.
