Legendary R&B DJ Silas “SiMan Baby” Alexander, was recently diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He made the announcement on a video on his public Facebook page on his 58th birthday Saturday.

- Alexander announced the news on his 58th birthday. He says he’s was diagnosed over the summer and is remaining optimistic.
“What is my challenge? …well, I have had to work hard to maintain a winning attitude, because over the summer I was diagnosed with panceatic cancer, which means, part of my body has cancer, but the cancer does not have me. It’s a winning attitude I’ve worked hard to maintain.”
- Alexander, affectionately known as “SiMan Baby” for three decades in Atlanta radio spent his career between WIGO-AM, V-103, Kiss 104.1, Classic Soul 102.5 and most recently Majic 107.5/97.5. He has been a staple in the “grown-folks” nightlife scene throughout all of his time on air. He most recently hosted nights at Club Bolts in Atlanta off Gresham Road.
- SiMan also announced that his cousin, another local DJ, Mix Master Mitch, was also diagnosed with pancreatic cancer over the summer. The two have plans to launch a podcast, “Cousins with Cancer,” scheduled to begin October 12th.
Alexander asks his fans and friends to keep his family lifted in their thoughts and prayers. He wants everyone to remain positive.
