NEW YORK — Attorney General Letitia James on Tuesday announced the findings of her inquiry into accusations against Andrew Cuomo, concluding that the governor sexually harassed multiple women. James said victims included current and former employees, and that Cuomo tried to retaliate against at least one woman who came forward. Over 179 people were interviewed.

James appointed Joon Kim, the former acting U.S. attorney for Manhattan, and employment discrimination attorney Anne Clark to conduct the probe.

Lawyers spent months speaking to women who say Cuomo subjected them to inappropriate kisses and touching or inappropriate sexual remarks.  One woman, an aide to Cuomo, has said he groped her breasts. When asked about next steps, James replied, “the matter is civil in nature and doesn’t have any criminal consequences.”

James would not speculate on any civil litigation.  Cuomo has not responded to the investigation’s findings.
