A new show called What Not to Design starring Raven-Symoné is in the works!
What We Know:
- Deadline reports that the home improvement channel HGTV has greenlighted a one-hour pilot for the new show. The series What Not to Design is a spin-off of BBC Studios’ early 2000’s series What Not to Wear. Instead of fashion blunders, the plot follows singer, actress, and design enthusiast Raven-Symoné on her quest to overhaul poorly decorated homes.
- The show will also include a team of experts to help including designer Nina Ferrer from HGTV’s Design Star and craftsman James Worsham. The team will meet with homeowners to determine what outdated or over-the-top decor gets to stay, trash, or sell before the team works their magic.
- “Style mistakes are not confined to clothing,” Symoné said in a press release. “Bad design prevents people from living well and truly enjoying their homes. My team and I are determined to show what to do — and what not to do — to create beautiful spaces.”
- Symoné began her acting career as three-year-old Olivia on The Cosby Show back in the 80s but is most known for starring in the hit Disney Channel series That’s So Raven where she played a future-seeing teen. She later became a popular talk show voice on the daytime television show The View.
Although HGTV has not announced a set date for the pilot, the show will be produced by BBC Studios’ Los Angeles production team.
