Megan Thee Stallion and Fashion Nova Roll Out $1M ‘Women on Top’ Fund for International Women’s Day

Megan Thee Stallion has teamed up with Fashion Nova to give away $1 million for her new philanthropic initiative.

What We Know:

  • The “Savage” rapper made the announcement on social media yesterday to celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month. “@FashionNova and I are excited to announce Women on Top,” she wrote. “A new female empowerment initiative that will give away 1 million dollars in grants and scholarships over the course of this month to amazing women entrepreneurs, female students, women-owned businesses, and women-focused charities.”

  • The Woman on Top campaign aims to empower women by giving them $25,000 or more to help make their dreams a reality. Every day throughout the month of March, Megan and Fashion Nova Cares will highlight the female recipients who were pre-selected to receive $25,000 or more until they reach their $1 million funding goal. Billboard reported that the campaign would be a part of Fashion Nova’s ongoing pledge to support various activism and awareness programs in their commitment to fighting against racial inequality.
  • The first to receive a donation from the “Hot Girl” herself was the YWCA Houston. The YWCA has a program called Center for Women that helps homeless women and girls advance through life by providing them with housing and resources. Anyone who is interested in applying for a chance at $25,000 can go to Fashion Nova Cares’ official website to submit their contact information, Instagram handle, and personal story.
  • This is one of a growing number of Megan Thee Stallion’s philanthropic efforts. The Don’t Stop Scholarship Fund she created last October supported women of color pursuing a college degree. Last summer, Megan teamed up with Cardi B., Cash App, and Twitter following their song “WAP” to give away another  $1 million to women after the song opened up a viral conversation about female empowerment. Just last week, Megan helped fellow Texans rebuild after the deadly winter storm in February left residents in crisis.

Richard Saghian, founder and CEO of Fashion Nova, commented on the project, saying, “We believe the world will be a better place when all women are provided the opportunity to maximize their potential. This program was created to give women greater advantage as they pursue their passions.”
