Parler CEO Says Service Dropped By “Every Vendor” And Could End His Business

Posted on January 11, 2021January 11, 2021 by Rachel Masloske

Parler CEO faces trouble after the Big Tech ban of his app.

What We Know:

  • Saturday, Amazon kicked Parler off its web hosting services, says The New York Post. Mark Matze, CEO of Parler, stated that the ban is “an assault on everybody.”
  • In a Fox News interview, Matze discussed the issue. “They all work together to make sure at the same time we would lose access to not only our apps, but they’re actually shutting all of our servers off tonight, off the internet.”
  • Matze believes this is an attempt to destroy the company. Google was first to ban the app, then Apple, and now Amazon. “Every vendor from text message services to email providers to our lawyers all ditched us too on the same day,” Matze said.
  • Parler became popular among right-wingers after Twitter and Facebook began blocking and adding disclaimers to posts. Many of these posts being President Donald Trump’s tweets or surrounding Trump.
  • Leading up to Parlers ban, critics complained about the violent and aggressive nature of posts on the site even before the US Capitol storming. Matze argued that Parler is not responsible for the riot at the Capitol. “They’re trying to falsely claim that we’re somehow responsible for the events that occurred on the 6th,” he said.

Matze has had difficulties bringing Parler back online, saying every vendor we talk to says they won’t work with us.” He believes “they just don’t want us on the internet. They want to get rid of us.”
