A 300 person wedding ceremony was held on November 7, 2020 and has been linked to over a dozen coronavirus cases.
What We Know:
- The Grant County Health District didn’t release information about the wedding but they created a Facebook post on Monday, mentioning 17 people testing positive for Covid-19.
- The Grant County Health District issued a press release and asked for guests who attended the wedding to get tested for Covid-19 and to self-quarantine. The GCHD has confirmed with ABC News, 40 cases have been confirmed in connection to the wedding.
- Some of the guests that attended have gotten tested. The District Administrator Theresa Adkinson expressed that she is “thankful” some have taken the steps and precautions to limit the spread of the virus.
- The GCHD has recommended for wedding organizers to “keep a log of attendees at each service and to retain that log for at least two weeks”. They are also asking people who are attending large gatherings to take a Covid-19 test five to seven days or earlier if symptoms begin.
- On Sunday, Governor Jay Inslee announced there will be restrictions as the number of Covid-19 cases has continued to rise. As of Monday, the Washington state health department reported 131,532 confirmed cases.
- A document was released that listed the governor’s restrictions, which mentions that weddings are limited to no more than 30 guests and indoor receptions or gatherings are prohibited.
To reiterate restrictions and precautions that should be taken, the health department created a Facebook post letting wedding organizers know they should keep a record of the guest and they must keep the log for at least two weeks.
