Newsmax is a conservative news network that launched in 2014. Newsmax has recently gained many viewers with it’s unwillingness to call the 2020 presidential race, with many viewers coming from Fox News.
What We Know:
- Since the election was called by multiple news networks, including Fox, Donald Trump has been fostering upset on social media against the network. Trump has begun to encourage his followers on Twitter to support Newsmax instead of Fox.
.@FoxNews daytime ratings have completely collapsed. Weekend daytime even WORSE. Very sad to watch this happen, but they forgot what made them successful, what got them there. They forgot the Golden Goose. The biggest difference between the 2016 Election, and 2020, was @FoxNews!

- Newsmax has gained Trump’s support by refusing to call the election and using airtime to reveal the ways that Trump can still win the presidency. They have stated multiple times that the election was called too early and is not over until the electoral college officially calls the race in December.
- Since Trump’s public support of Newsmax, viewership has escalated from 65,000 to 800,000 this past week, according to The New York Times.
- Newmax hosts multiple shows, one of them is hosted by former press secretary for Donald Trump, Sean Spicer. Another show is the Chris Salcedo show, described as featuring, “your conservative, liberty-loving host, who confronts the biased press, both political parties, and the extremist left — every day”.
As the Donald Trump campaign continues to participate in legal battles across the country, it is likely that Newsmax will continue to gain the support of Trump voters.
