After the 2016 election when Donald Trump was elected president, Dave Chappelle hosted Saturday Night Live. This year, he’ll be hosting another episode on November 7th.
What We Know:
- Dave Chappelle will be returning to host an episode of SNL following election day on November 3rd. He previously hosted an episode back in 2016 after Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election. This episode received many ratings and led Chappelle to win an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series according to Rolling Stone.
- He made a comment four years ago along the lines of wishing Donald Trump “good luck” and received a lot of criticism from the public. He stated, “And I’m going to give him a chance,” Chappelle offered. “And we, the historically disenfranchised, demand that he give us one, too.” He later apologized for making this comment.
- Chappelle has limited experience on SNL but definitely not in the comedy world. He had a show between 2003 and 2006 called Chappelle’s Show. There will be episodes of this show coming to Netflix and HBO Max later on this month. Before SNL in 2016, he wasn’t really in the public as much as some would think and this made his performance and appearance even more exciting.
- Aside from SNL, Dave released a comedy short on his Netflix channel centered around the killing of George Floyd earlier this year. It’s called 8:46.
- During this 46th season of SNL, there have already been features from celebrities like Chris Rock, Megan The Stallion, Justin Bieber, and Issa Rae.
- Even with election day less than 24 hours away, there are some who are hoping that this episode isn’t the same as the one from 2016.
Let’s just hope and pray that the skits in this upcoming post-election episode don’t mimic the last one in 2016. 🙏🏾

I listen to mister Chappelle’s monologue I’ve always enjoyed his company but he’s losing something I don’t know he’s just not as funny as he used to be I know he’s a very talented man in the past I just didn’t like that
