- One student has died from the shooting just days away from graduation. Eight other students confirmed injured but survived the shooting.

Two suspects detained: One identified by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office as 18-year-old Devon Erickson. The other suspect is a female juvenile.

Original Story:
There has been another school shooting in Colorado leaving at least seven injured and two suspects in custody.
What We Know:
- The shooting began at 1:53 pm at the K-12 STEM Academy School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, about 15 miles outside of Denver leaving at least seven, possibly eight, injured. The injured are not confirmed to be adults or students yet.
- Douglas County Undersheriff Holly Nicholson-Kluth stated “Quite a few shots were fired. As officers were arriving at the school they could still hear gunshots.”
- Many students were able to self-evacuate while others are being reunited at a nearby recreation center while two unidentified suspects were detained while caught by officers as they were running into the school.
- The STEM Academy School has about 1,800 students enrolled and is located about seven miles from Columbine High School which just weeks ago hit the 20th anniversary of the 1999 Columbine shooting which resulted in the deaths of one teacher and 12 students.
