New York Man Arrested After Chasing Protestors With Blade In His Arm

54-year-old Frank Cavalluzzi has been arrested after he allgedly chased a group of protestors in New York with two blades in his arm.

What We Know:

  • Cavalluzzi rushed toward a group of protestors with two blades in his arm and then chased them in his SUV. He was arrested on Thursday.
  • He faces multiple counts of reckless endangerment, menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon according to the New York Police Department.
  • In the video footage captured on June 2, Cavalluzzi is seen driving on the sidewalk chasing after a group of people. He then hops out of the car and accuses them of throwing something at his SUV.

  • The group of people told NBC that they didn’t throw anything at his car and did nothing wrong. Briana Hernandez, one of the members of the group said, “I didn’t do anything wrong. I was two inches away from getting hit by that car.” They had been on the bridge where the incident took place every day protesting against the murder of George Floyd.
  • Witness, Arianna Agudo, who happened to be driving along where the incident occurred said, “The kids were just calmly protesting by just placing signs and posters, all of the sudden the guy started insulting them and the kids just started talking back defending their beliefs. He literally made a crazy U-turn, parked in front of them and started chasing them with his 4-knife weapon. After that, he got back into his car, got on the sidewalk, stepped on the gas pedal and started chasing those kids with the intent of running them over. Then he got away.”

A police report of the incident was filed Wednesday. There were no injuries reported from the incident. There is no further information on whether Cavalluzzi has a lawyer.
