Cyclist attacks people posting signs in support of Black Lives Matter

Maryland-National Capital Park Police are looking for a man caught on video assaulting three people posting flyers in support of Black Lives Matter.

What We Know:

  • The assault took place Monday afternoon on the Capital Crescent Trail in Bethesda, Maryland.
  • A man and two women were posting signs along the trail seeking justice for George Floyd’s murder. The suspect approached them on his bicycle and the group began filming the incident.
  • The video shows the cyclist approaching one of the women, attempting to rip up the flyers in her hand. The other two victims shout to the cyclist to stay away from her and not to touch her.
  • The suspect then charged the man filming the incident, causing him to fall to the ground and drop his phone.
  • Luckily, there were no serious injuries.
  • The suspect is described as a 50 to 60-year-old white male of medium build, around 6-feet tall, with short brown hair.

Police are requesting the public’s help in finding the suspect.
