Dwyane Wade Is Apparently Not Sold On Terry Crews’ Apology To Gabrielle Union

Dwayne Wade had a few words for Terry Crews who apologized to the retired NBA star’s wife, Gabrielle Union, for invalidating her experience as a judge on NBC’s America’s Got Talent.

What We Know:

  • In a series of tweets on Friday, Crews expressed his regret for not publicly supporting Union after reports emerged that she complained about a culture of racism on the set of AGT prior to her seemingly abrupt departure from the show.
  • Crews went on to say that he needs to acknowledge the pain of others and realizes there were a lot of black women who were hurt by his comments.
  • In one post, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor tweeted directly to Union, noting that it “was not my intention to invalidate your experience-but that is what I did”.
  • Union has not yet responded publicly but one person who wasn’t a fan of Crews’ online apology was Union’s husband Dwayne Wade.
  • The 38-year-old retired NBA star tweeted hours after Crews’ thread saying, “Someone please take @terrycrews phone.” Wade also retweeted a post arguing that Crews being “professionally neutral is how toxic work environments remain”.
  • Back in November, Wade tweeted that he had heard no good reason for why Union “was being fired”. He noted in a later tweet that he was proud of Union for “standing up for what she stands for and that’s US”.

Do you agree with Wade? Do you think someone should take Crews’ phone? Let us know in the comments.
