Late Monday evening, LeBron James wrote his fans on Instagram a heartfelt tribute towards Kobe Bryant’s Death.
What We Know:
- Following the unexpected death of Kobe Bryant, 41, and his daughter, Gianna Bryant, 13, along with seven other passengers in a helicopter crash early Sunday morning, NBA superstar LeBron James broke his silence about the passing of his idol, friend, rival, and Lakers legend Monday night.
- On Instagram, James began with a heart-wrenching stanza, “I’m not ready, but here I go. Man I sitting here trying to write something for this post but every time I try I begin crying again just thinking about you, niece Gigi and the friendship /bond /brotherhood we had!”
- James continued, “I literally just heard your voice Sunday morning before I left Philly to head back to LA. Didn’t think for one bit in a million years that would be the last conversation we’d have.”

- Less than two days after telling the story of squeezing his size 15 feet into the size 14 shoe that Kobe had given him, he shared his condolences and sympathy with Vanessa Bryant, her daughters, and the other families affected by the crash.
- Just a day before Bryant’s death, he went on social media to congratulate LeBron James, who surpassed him on the NBA’s career scoring list.
