Best known from his role as Kel of the hit 90’s television show Kenan and Kel, Kel Mitchell reveals that he is now a licensed pastor.

- Mitchell made the announcement on social media this week at a Southern California church where he’s been a youth pastor for about a year.

- The Chicago native is also known in his role as Ed in the film Good Burger. He was a contestant on the 28th season of Dancing With The Stars, where he finished as the runner-up, and also starred on the Nickelodeon series Game Shakers from 2015-2019. Mitchell also executive produces and appears in a recurring role on the network’s All That reboot.
- When Mitchell isn’t acting, writing, or directing, he speaks to youth across the nation, “encouraging them to trust in the Lord and follow their dreams,” according to the church’s website.
- He and his wife were honored with an award from the Carson Black Chamber of Commerce for providing a safe program for kids to show off their creative talents in their dance variety live show, The Back House Party, the bio adds. “Mitchell is additionally the spokesperson for Black College Expo, which provides numerous scholarships for students throughout the year.”
