*Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are closing down their charitable foundation, and the move appears to stem from Will’s infamous Oscar slap.

According to TMZ, citing Variety, the superstar couple is shuttering the Will And Jada Smith Family Foundation following a notable decline in donations. The foundation’s tax records reveal that major contributors, such as CAA and American Airlines, withdrew their support following Will’s violent encounter with Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards.

Per TMZ, “the foundation went from bringing in over $2 million in 2021 to less than $400K in 2022,” the outlet writes, adding, “Variety says the Smiths were planning on ending the foundation before the Oscars drama because they wanted to focus on making private charitable donations.”

Meanwhile, Will’s career has managed to withstand the fallout from the backlash. As TMZ reports, the actor currently has at least 4 active projects in pre-production, including the “I Am Legend” sequel. Most recently, the trailer for the fourth ‘Bad Boys’ film co-starring Martin Lawrence dropped.

On Tuesday, Sony Pictures released the official trailer for the hotly anticipated “Bad Boys: Ride Or Die.”
