*Whoopi Goldberg recently disclosed her use of the weight loss drug Mounjaro, which she turned to after weighing 300 pounds during the filming of “Till.”

During Tuesday’s episode of “The View,” Goldberg said her use of steroids caused her weight gain. During the filming of the movie, she experienced a life-threatening health scare involving double pneumonia and sepsis.

“I had taken all those steroids, I was on all this stuff,” Goldberg said on “The View,” per THR. “And one of the things that’s helped me drop the weight was the Mounjaro. That’s what I used.”

Goldberg admitted that she hadn’t fully grasped the extent of her weight gain until she saw herself in the mirror one day.

“I just always felt like me,” she said. “And then I saw me and I thought, ‘Oh! That’s a lot of me!’”

When “Till” was released in 2022, a reporter claimed Whoopi wore a fat suit to play Till’s mother.

“Till” centers on the mother of murdered Chicago teenager Emmett Till and his mother’s fight for justice after the 1955 lynching of her 14-year-old son.

We reported earlier via CNN that in a mixed review, a Daily Beast reporter mentions Goldberg only once, writing that Goldberg was “in a distracting fat suit” for her role as Emmett Till’s grandmother. The review has since been edited to omit that line and features an editor’s note.

“I don’t really care how you felt about the movie,” Goldberg responded to the report at the time, “but you should know that was not a fat suit, that was me. That was steroids.”

As CNN reported, Goldberg was referring to the health challenges she experienced in 2021 with sciatica, a type of nerve pain, and she was taking steroids to treat the symptoms.
