*Busta Rhymes was scheduled to kick off his 24-date “Blockbusta” tour, but it has been called off according to updates on Ticketmaster.com.
Each concert, starting from the March 13 kickoff in San Francisco to the April 21 finale in Rhyme’s hometown of Brooklyn, has been marked as canceled on the ticketing platform.
With no official explanation provided for the tour’s cancellation, speculation has arisen online suggesting either insufficient ticket sales or concerns regarding the rapper’s health.
Previously, Rhymes had participated in 50 Cent’s The Final Lap tour, which concluded in December. Before embarking on that tour, Rhymes discussed in Men’s Health magazine his journey of shedding 100 pounds to enhance his health after experiencing what he described as an “asthma-like” episode. Rhymes disclosed further weight loss while on tour with 50 Cent, as reported by Complex in November 2023 during the promotion of his “Blockbusta” album.
The rapper, songwriter, record producer, and actor renowned for hits like “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See” and “Woo-Hah!! Got You All in Check”, was recognized with a lifetime achievement award at the BET Awards in June 2023.
Additionally, he performed at a joint event hosted by The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and Spotify, benefiting Musicians On Call (MOC), at the newly inaugurated venue, The Atlantis, in Washington DC.
Ticket holders for Rhymes’ tour should expect updates from Ticketmaster regarding rescheduled dates or refunds.
In related news, last month, during celebrations for French Montana’s new mixtape, Mac & Cheese 5, Rhymes was involved in an altercation with up-and-coming rapper Nizzle Man, reports The Source.
The incident took place at Harbor nightclub in New York City, where footage surfaced showing 23-year-old Nizzle Man being pulled down a flight of stairs. Busta, 52, then confronts the rapper before further pushing occurs.
