Justin Trudeau Wins Re-Election In Canada

After a recent endorsement by Barack Obama, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau won his re-election.

What We Know:

  • His Liberal Party held on to around 150 seats in Parliament but didn’t receive a majority. Canada’s Conservative Party is projected to receive the majority vote and 120 seats in Parliament, according to the Daily Wire. Unexpectedly, Quebec’s Separatist Party also received 20 more seats.
  • Trudeau was not happy with the way his party performed and went on to claim “Canda rejected division and negativity … and they rejected cuts and austerity and voted in favour of a progressive agenda and strong action on climate change.”
  • This win comes after the recent controversy over Trudeau wearing blackface in the past. The win also led to him being mocked over Twitter.

Trump also went to Twitter to congratulate Trudeau on his win “Congratulations to @JustinTrudeau on a wonderful and hard fought victory. Canada is well served. I look forward to working with you toward the betterment of both of our countries!”
