One-night debate hosted by CNN and The New York Times. The debate will feature twelve democratic presidential candidates who qualified with 2% in at least 4 DNC-approved polls and contributions from at least 130,000 individual donors.
Moderators include CNN anchors Erin Burnett & Anderson Cooper along with New York Times national editor Marc Lacey

- Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) (#2 in current polls)
- Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) (#3 in current polls)
- Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.)
- South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg
- Former congressman Beto O’Rourke of Texas
- Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.)
- Businessman Andrew Yang
- Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.)
- Former housing and urban development secretary Julián Castro
- Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) (missed September qualifications)
- Businessman Tom Steyer (first debate)

- Bernie Sanders is confirmed as returning this evening after suffering a heart attack a few weeks ago.
- The following did not qualify for this debate: Colorado Senator Michael Bennet, Montana Governor Steve Bullock, former Maryland Rep. John Delaney, Miramar Mayor Wayne Messam, Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan, former Pennsylvania Rep. Joe Sestak, and author Marianne Williamson.

- The next debate will take place on November 20th in Georgia and will be hosted by MSNBC & the Washington Post. To qualify for the November debate, candidates have to hit 3% in four early state or national polls and get 165,000 donors. So far only five candidates meet both qualifications: Biden, Buttigieg, Harris, Sanders and Warren.
