John Legend Meets Look-A-Like Singer on ‘The Voice’ | Watch

John Legend

*John Legend was nearly left speechless on Monday night’s “The Voice” when he met a look-a-like contestant during the blind audition episode.

“I’m looking at myself,” said Legend, who serves as a judge on the show, to Talakai, a 32-year-old singer from Sacramento, Calif., Vibe reports. He served up a rendition of Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me.”

“A lot of times, people will send me pictures of people that they think look like me, and most of the time not really, and then I turned around and looked at you. We have the same haircut like… I was like he really legitimately looks like me,” Legend said.

“Every day at work I get it,” Talakai told the Grammy Award-winning singer about his familiar features.

“In school, I used to sing ‘Ordinary People’ down the hallway all the time,” he added.

Legend responded, “I’m sorry I’ve been haunting you but now you’re on The Voice and I would love to have you on Team Legend.”

As Talakai advances on the music competition show, he will receive guidance and mentoring from Legend.

“The Voice” airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET PT on NBC.
