Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def Festival Pushed Back to 2024

*Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def Festival has been pushed back to next year, the music mogul announced this week. 

According to Vibe, Dupri’s surprise announcement came Wednesday (Sept. 27) in an emailed statement that read, “The So So Def Festival has been postponed. More details coming soon.”

The official website says the festival will be rescheduled for Spring 2024.

The two-day experience celebrates the 30th anniversary of Dupri’s Atlanta-based record label. The event was set to take place in Atlanta’s Central Park on Saturday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 8. 

Several So So Def artists were slated to perform, including Xscape, Jagged Edge, Da Brat, Bow Wow, Dondria, and Dem Franchize Boyz, plus some of Dupri’s finest comrades like Ari Lennox, Monica, T.I., Anthony Hamilton, Mario, Dru Hill, T-Pain, Bryan-Michael Cox, DVSN, Pleasure P, Keri Hilson, and more, per Vibe.

Meanwhile, we reported previously that this year’s “BET Hip Hop Awards” 2023 will honor the 30th anniversary of iconic record label So So Def with a star-studded performance from Dupri, as well as Bone Crusher, Bow Wow, Da Brat, Dem Franchize Boyz, Ludacris and more.

Hosted by Fat Joe, the annual show premieres Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 9:00 PM ET/PT.
