Warner Bros. has dropped the trailer for the DC film, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
The sequel to the highest-grossing DC film of all time brings back star Jason Momoa and director James Wan, along with Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Nicole Kidman. The sequel is set to hit theaters on Dec. 20.
The official synopsis of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom:
Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction.
Jason Momoa is back as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, who must now juggle his responsibilities as the King of Atlantis and as a new father. Patrick Wilson returns as Orm, Aquaman’s half-brother and nemesis. Amber Heard returns as Mera, the Queen of Atlantis, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is back as Black Manta. Dolph Lundgren and Randall Park are also both reprising their roles as King Nereus and Dr. Stephen Shin.
Wan returns as director also producing alongside Peter Safran and Rob Cowan. Executive producers include Galen Vaisman and Walter Hamada.
David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick wrote the script, which was adapted from a story by James Wan, David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, Jason Momoa, and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, based on the DC Comics character Aquaman, created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger.
