Here’s How To Get Inside Hidden Bars In Las Vegas – Travel Noire

Amid the excitement and organized chaos in Las Vegas, there is a hidden bar scene perfect for people who need a break from the casinos, street performances, and the characters Sin City attracts. You may need a password in some places, but all of these hidden bars require a careful eye.

Here’s how to get inside Las Vegas’s hidden bar scene.

The Underground

Most museums give you a lesson on history through pictures and artifacts, but at the bottom of The Mob Museum, you can also sip history. Head to the basement, where you will be greeted with what appears to be a door for a loading zone. However, it’s actually The Underground. The distillery and a speakeasy are surrounded by 1920s artifacts for an authentic Prohibition experience. You will learn the stories of bootleggers, rum runners, and the government agencies that tried to take them down at the time.

There are two ways to get inside.  If you visit the museum, access to The Underground is included with a general admission ticket.  If you’re visiting the speakeasy only, you need the password for the week, which can be found on the museum’s website.  Once you have the password, find the side door, and you’re in.

Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den

Resorts World is the new and shiny kid on the Las Vegas hotel and resort block.  The hotel opened in June 2021 and cost $4.3 billion to build.  With more than 3,500 rooms and the various pools on the property, including a rooftop pool deck, spa and salon experiences, and fine dining, there’s no shortage of fun at this exciting Hilton property.

With so much going on inside Resorts World, the last thing you would suspect is a hidden bar. There are no signs for Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den.

Go to the Famous Food Street East area and look for the store Fuhu Cha Chaan Teng. When you find what appears to look like a Black check-in desk or Black shelves with a gold cat on top, you know you’re in the right place.

Get there early because the not-so-unknown bar is becoming a hit in Vegas. The host will take your name and let you know the wait.  Keep in mind it’s small and intimate. If you want to be inside for a while, then a table is better than bar seating.

Some people have reported needing a password.  At the bottom of Here Kitty Kitty’s website is the word “meow” that people have used as a password.

Mike Morey’s Sip’N’Tip

What started as a hidden bar for people in the service industry has become a place where well-traveled tourists are considered locals and treated like family. Mike Morey’s Sip’N’Tip is the perfect fix for getting away from the Vegas crowds downtown. To get inside, head to the Fremont East Entertainment District. The bar is discrete as the entrance is in the “DT Art Alley.”

Once inside, you will be greeted with what the team calls an intimate and cozy “Speak-Up” where it’s comfortable enough to lounge but fancy enough to feel like an upscale cocktail vibe. With more than 60 seasonal menus, you can’t go wrong at Mike Morey’s Sip’N’Tip, a well-respected hidden bar.

Datamosh

Area 15 is an immersive, outworldy experience thanks to technology.  You can race on a zipline, explore mesmerizing realms, hunt down zombies, and more.

When you approach Mega Mart – an art installation disguised as a grocery store inside, there’s a hidden bar behind known as Datamosh (near the pharmacy).

The drinks make Datamosh one of the best-hidden bars in Las Vegas. The Old Fashioned Spray is served in a bottle that resembles glass cleaner.  It’s made with Cali Riptide 118 Proof Whiskey and is known to give you a kick that sneaks up on you.

Another famous cocktail is the viral drink known as The Source.  It’s made with El Silencio Mezcal, Lillet Blanc, shiso, tarragon, lime, and a rosemary bubble filled with smoke to top it all off.

The Laundry Room

The Laundry Room is located inside The Commonwealth. It’s an internationally acclaimed speakeasy with an exclusive admission process because only 22 guests are allowed entry. Its limited capacity allows the master cocktail craftsmen to tailor a unique experience for each guest.

Be aware there are rules for dressing here, so don’t go inside with sweats or loungewear, as you may be denied entry. Your best bet for access is to make a reservation ahead of time.
