*Three brazen thieves stole merchandise from a Nike store in East Los Angeles over the weekend — and the wild scene was caught on camera.
On Sunday evening, the trio ransacked the Nike Community Store on Whittier Boulevard in full view of staff and other shoppers, KTLA reported. A viral video of the shoplifters shows an individual carrying a large trash bag full of stacked shoe boxes. As soon as the bag spilled open, the individual calmly repacked the boxes before following their companions out of the store.
The thieves apparently stole $1,000 worth of merchandise, and are reportedly still at large. Watch the report via the YouTube clip above.
In a similar incident, over $300,000 worth of stock was stolen from a nearby Nordstrom the day prior to the Nike store pillaging, according to the New York Post.
What happened at the Nordstrom in the Topanga Mall this weekend is absolutely unacceptable.
Those who committed these acts and acts like it in neighboring areas must be held accountable.https://t.co/F1NMWImATr

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass called the Nordstrom robbery “absolutely unacceptable.”
“Those who committed these acts and acts like it in neighboring areas must be held accountable,” Bass said in a statement, per the Post.
On YouTube, one commenter posted under the Post’s video of the Nike store attack, “Pretty soon the thieves will just causally walk in and casually walk out with stolen merchandise. They won’t run out; they’ll walk out with no particular urgency. Nobody can claim ignorance for wondering why everything is getting so expensive. Criminals loot the stores and law-abiding citizens pay the price.”
Another joked, “The people are the real suckers for spending hundreds when the store is giving out freebies.”
