Woman Who Posted $100,00 for R. Kelly’s Bond Wants Her Money Back Since He’s Been Indicted

Valencia Love, the woman who bonded R. Kelly out of jail earlier this year, is demanding to have the $100,000 returned back to her.

What We Know:

  • In February of this year, “I Wish” singer R. Kelly was indicted on ten counts of criminal sexual abuse. Love, who claimed to be a friend of Kelly, says she gave Cook County state jail four installments of $25,000 in order for Kelly to be released.
  • In July, Kelly was arrested again on eighteen counts, pertaining to child pornography production, obstruction of justice and receipt of child pornography. Love has requested to have her money back since Kelly is now back in jail.
  • The Chicago Sun-Times reported that on Tuesday, a Cook County judge stated that she will not be getting her money back, at least not any time soon. Love, who is the owner of a restaurant called Love on the Blu and a childcare facility called Lord And Child Christian Daycare, has declined to comment on where the money came from.
  • Complex reports that Love expressed to Tia Ewing of Fox 32 News that Kelly is her fried and that she knew he needed help. “He was going to get out regardless. I just went there to help out a friend.”
