It seems the Eli Manning saga is over, with the Giants announcing Daniel Jones as the new quarterback, according to the NFL.
What We Know:
- Head Coach Pat Shurmur called Eli on Tuesday. He declared how “it was the right time for us to start Jones.” He went on to talk to the press about how Manning will be still a massive key in coaching the young QB to a good season. Eli was obviously disappointed but he has talked about being a good teammate and supporting the team while he can.
- Jones is expected to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday. This will be Jones’ first test. He has been preparing this week and avoided talking about any sort of shock at being named the starter.

- During the preseason, Jones had an 85% completion percentage with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
- Fans definitely have mixed reactions about the news.
