One can infer that the President of the United States has a favorite social-media platform and it may be Twitter. This is not the first time we have seen Donald Trump use Twitter to rant about the state of the country, social issues and people. This time, Trump chose to target John Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen.
What We Know:
- The President took to Twitter to respond to comments made by John Legend while attending a Criminal Justice Town Hall hosted by NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt from inside New York’s Sing Sing prison, which aired Sunday night on MSNBC — the culmination of the Justice for All series on the criminal justice system.
When all of the people pushing so hard for Criminal Justice Reform were unable to come even close to getting it done, they came to me as a group and asked for my help. I got it done with a group of Senators & others who would never have gone for it. Obama couldn’t come close….

….musician @johnlegend, and his filthy mouthed wife, are talking now about how great it is – but I didn’t see them around when we needed help getting it passed. “Anchor”@LesterHoltNBC doesn’t even bring up the subject of President Trump or the Republicans when talking about….

- John Legend is an award-winning singer and founder of the criminal justice advocacy group FreeAmerica.
- The bipartisan bill Trump signed in December was discussed during the town hall along with The First Step Act, a reform measure, signed into law last year. The town hall also covered an inmate freed by the law’s changes.
- Teigen responded, wondering why she was mentioned when she was not included in the Town-Hall Special. She went on to tweet “Luna, remember the night before your first day of school? When mommy was making your sign and the p—- ass b***h president had his 9th meltdown of the day.”
- Teigen also made a second post saying, “The absolute best part of his tweet is I literally didn’t speak in the special, nor was I mentioned. I’m cackling at the pointless addition of me because he cannot not be a bitch.”
- Legend went on to say “Melania, please praise this man. He needs you.”
Imagine being president of a whole country and spending your Sunday night hate-watching MSNBC hoping somebody–ANYBODY–will praise you. Melania, please praise this man. He needs you.
