Brad Pitt Reveals More Details About His Formula One Movie With Damson Idris As They Film For Project At British Grand Prix – Shadow and Act

Production is officially underway for Damson Idris and Brad Pitt’s new Formula One movie from Apple Studios.

This past weekend, the actors sported white racing suits as they began filming their upcoming project at the British Grand Prix, They even had a chance to drive a few laps around the legendary track!

Pitt opened up about the highly anticipated racing feature.

While recently speaking with former British racing champion Martin Brundle for Sky Sports, Pitt opened up about his experience filming the upcoming pic so far.

“It’s all been great. The vibe is amazing, to get to be part of it and tell our story. The teams have opened their doors to us.”

The Mr. and Mrs. Smith star went on to reveal that he’d never driven a racing car on a track before and had only driven bikes.

“I’ve spent the last 20 years on bikes on tracks, so that helped a lot,” he said, adding that it was “really humbling” to have some of the professional drivers showing him the ropes on the track.

“The guys really prepared me well,” Pitt continued. “There is a couple of corners that I can see the stands but on the straights you have a bit of time to look around, but no I’m really focused on lines and what we’re trying to create in these moments.”

Pitt went on the reveal details surrounding the premise of the movie.

The actor shared that he plays “a guy who raced in the 1990s… who has a horrible crash, craps out and disappears, then he’s racing in other disciplines. His friend, played by Javier Bardem, he’s a team owner, contacts him. They’re a last place team, they’re 21-22 on the grid, they’ve never scored a point. But they have a young phenom, played by Damson Idris, and they bring me in as kind of a Hail Mary and hijinks ensue. Tell you what’s amazing about it — there are cameras mounted all over the car — you’ve never seen speed, you’ve never seen just the G-forces like this. It’s really, really exciting.”

He later added, “It’s great to be [at Silverstone]. We’re just having such a laugh, time of my life.”

The Formula One film is directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Apple Studios feature alongside Lewis Hamilton under his Dawn Apollo Films banner, Jerry Bruckheimer, and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films and Plan B Entertainment.
